One of the greatest skills in life is to learn when you need the proper/recommended equipment for a job, or when you can just MacGyver it.
Over the last couple of days I’ve learnt that nothing but a proper yarn needle will do when you are stitching together separate panels of crochet. I’ve done it with a crochet hook all my life so far; trust me needles are easier and quicker.
However, in complete contrast, I’ve been pondering for ages now whether to invest in some waterproof paper so I can make quick notes in the shower. I’ve just always done the best I could leaning out the bath to write on a piece of paper, that nearly always ends up disintegrating slightly. Today inspiration hit; greaseproof paper. It’s not perfect, but it is better than forgetting.
