Notes on Life No. 25 – Exercise Mentality

Standard

There are going to be days when half way through an exercise session your mindset utterly fails you and you just cannot carry on. You might not have fuelled up properly; you might be tired; you might have so much on your mind you can’t focus on what your doing. You might be able to pin point what was wrong, but if pushing yourself will only make you miserable and less likely to return then stop.

I stopped swimming today because I got to the point I was utterly convinced that carrying on would mean I would drown, which I decided was a really good reason to get out the pool early. Good job I did as well becuase I could barely walk to get my train home. I might of collapsed if I had of pushed myself to swim more. Today my body just could not go on.

These are the days to remember you’re not a professional athlete, and that you were at least halfway finished, which is better than nothing.

You are not a failure for not finishing; you’re a human being and you aren’t perfect. Exercise is to be taken one day at a time. They say it gets easier the more you do it; some days though it will just be impossible.

About kabrown4

A quaint life full of teacups searched for inspiration to fuel a writer dreaming of fantasy worlds that are full of friends found only in words. I have been writing for as long as I can remember and over the years I have developed many stories and many characters. This is my blog about the journeys I've been on over the years, and the road I'm still travelling as a writer.
